Koi Pond Portfolio - 8000 gallons, East Sussex

Built in 2004 by Nippon Nishikigoi this pond combines sandstone rock in water and brick edging. The pond was excavated using heavy plant to a depth of 7ft and has a large shelf to provide a viewing platform upon which the fish may feed and be viewed. The pond is built using traditional block, rendered and fibreglassed and the construction included a shelf for the sussex sandstone rock to be placed. The filtration is provided by two Nexus 200's and one bead filter on the skimmer line to provide fine particle removal. The filtration itself is concealed in a purpose built brick and oak framed building complete with a slate roof. Heating is provided by two electric heaters. The final landscaping included an extensive rockery and planting scheme.
