2010 - looking ahead

It may well be cold and snow on the ground here in the UK at the moment but we are already busy planning our schedule for 2010. We are gearing up for our best year yet, with multiple buying trips to Japan and koi shows both in Japan and the UK. Our buying trips will be January/February, April and of course the autumn harvest in November. We are taking bookings already for these trips so please dont hesitate in contacting us for details and itenaries.

 Our next buying trip is in late January / early February. Simon will be traveling around our favoured breeders with two of our UK clients in search of tosai and nisai nishikigoi. The trip will take in the next Momotaro auction on 2nd Feb - details of the koi in this auction will be posted soon, please contact us if there are any koi you wish to bid upon. Other breeders will include Kondo, Matsue, Omosako, Ooyama, Tamaura and Taniguchi koi farms.

 This trip will culminate in Niigata City with two days at the All Japan Koi Show at Toki Masse where our clients will see first hand the biggest and best koi show on the planet. We will of course be bringing you complete and concise blog coverage of the show, results, and major winners as they become available.

Our next shipment of koi will arrive mid February 2010. This will include koi purchased on our autumn harvest and january / february buying trips. We decided to postpone our shipment from the autumn primarily to reduce the logistics and shipping costs and therefore the final price to the client. Costs coupled with the proximity to Christmas made the shipment of koi from the autumn trip to risky and costly.  Our website has ungone massive changes in the last few months, having successfully migrated to the drupal system. The functionality and capability of the site now is huge and diverse, with video, online purchasing and integrated blogging being some of the key features.
